Vol. 340 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

311.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a solid fuel back boiler grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of oral or written notification of completion of work or claim for payment of the grant in this case on or before 30 June 1981 as required by the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended). There is, accordingly, no statutory basis for the payment of a grant.

312.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

A grant for the installation of sewerage facilities was paid to this person in November 1979.

313.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

There has been no undue delay in this case. The person named has recently submitted information requested by my Department in December 1982. Payment of the grant will be made when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible. Payment of the subsidy will not commence until the grant has been paid and at least six months have elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed.

314.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

This grant has been paid.

315.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The applicant's eligibility for grant purposes is being investigated and the outcome will be communicated to the Deputy as soon as possible.

316.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There are two applications under the house improvement grants scheme from persons of the name and address supplied and it is taken that the Deputy has in mind the person who applied using the designation "Junior".

A grant is not payable in this case as, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), notification of the completion of work and a claim for payment of the grant were not received in the Department on or before 30 June 1981. The reference number quoted by the Deputy does not relate to the house improvement grants scheme.
