: The person concerned took part in a departmental competition for promotion to the grade of higher officer of customs and excise. He was listed on a panel of successful candidates and promotions have been made from the panel in order of merit as vacancies occurred. Having regard to present staffing arrangements it is not possible to state when an offer of appointment may be made to him.
