Vol. 341 No. 11

Written Answers . - Overhead Cables .

614.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the overhead telegraph cables which run from the entrance of the Hermitage estate in Rathfarnham, County Dublin, across the open space area to the corner of the park, to be taken down as the estate is now fully serviced by underground telephone cabling and the support poles for the cables are in a state of disrepair; if he is aware that there is a danger of the cables collapsing on children who play in the park; and when the works will be carried out.

: There are still some working telephone lines in the overhead cables concerned. It is planned to divert these to the underground cable network and to remove the poles and overhead cables within the next three months.
