I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that refunds in the amounts of £13.34 and £3.60 were made to the taxpayer on 18 May 1982 and 17 January 1983, respectively, on the basis of reviews of pre-marriage liability for the year 1981-82. As the marriage took place near the end of the income tax year virtually all the tax-free allowances due had already been taken into consideration in determining the PAYE deductions. This accounts for the small overall sum repayable. There is no further refund due in the case.
