Vol. 342 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork New Lifeboat.

712.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the RNLI are prepared to provide a new improved lifeboat at Ballycotton, County Cork, to service the coastline from Kinsale Head, County Cork, to Minehead, County Waterford, which includes Cork Harbour and Whitegate but that due to the necessity to dredge Ballycotton harbour the provision of the boat is being held up; if he will expedite the dredging of the harbour to facilitate the immediate delivery of the lifeboat; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works are not responsible for the maintenance or dredging of Ballycotton harbour nor have they been requested by any Department to carry out dredging work there.
