asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick whose house was approved for payment by the inspector some time ago.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspector will reassess a new house grant application by a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named. However, an application in respect of a person with the same surname and address has been referred for an inspection with a view to the allocation of a grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

There has been no undue delay by my Department in dealing with this case. The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

This application was rejected because the applicant did not apply for the grant within one year from the date he took up occupation of the house, which is a statutory condition of grant payment. He has been so informed.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied, and that the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

There has been no undue delay by my Department in dealing with this case. Two previous inspections revealed that the house was not satisfactorily completed. The file has again been referred to the inspector with a view to the payment of the grant.

Any delay in this case is due to the failure of the applicant to submit documents including SL4 (Tax Certificate) in support of his application. When these are received his application will be processed.

There has been no undue delay by my Department in dealing with this case. The file has again been referred to the inspector for further investigation with a view to the approval of a grant.

Defects noted on a previous inspection and other inquiries, which were necessary, have held up the finalisation of this case. However, an inspection will be arranged shortly with a view to the payment of a grant.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

There is, however, an application from a person with the same surname and address. The position in this case is that the file is with my Department's inspector for a report on the applicant's eligibility for a grant. On receipt of this report, the matter will be finalised as quickly as possible.
