I have allocated road grants totalling £3.3 million to Waterford Corporation this year for works on the section of the New Ross-Waterford road in their functional area. These works involve the replacement of Redmond bridge and the improvement of a section of road at Ferrybank.
I am also conscious of the need to improve the section of the road in the functional area of Kilkenny County Council and I will bear this in mind in my determination of the amounts of future road grants.
