Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin Water Supply Study.

Pat Upton

Ceist:

203 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Environment when the consultants' report on the crisis in Dublin's water supply will be published; and the action, if any, he proposes to take arising from the recommendations in this report. [6519/96]

Thomas P. Broughan

Ceist:

208 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment when the General Des Eaux report on the Dublin City water supply will be made public; and when he will give the go-ahead for the tendering process for contract reference IC in view of the fact that the water supply in Dublin is finely balanced and on the verge of a major crisis. [6539/96]

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

213 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment the action, if any, he intends to take in relation to the serious water shortage in the greater Dublin area in view of the recently completed consultants' report; and if he will make this report available to Deputy Róisín Shortall. [6590/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 203, 208 and 213 together.

The Dublin Region Water Supply Strategic Study has been completed and I am finalising arrangements for its publication immediately after Easter.

The position of Contract IC of the Ballymore Eustace improvement scheme and of other major capital proposals affecting the Dublin region will be considered in the light of the study's analysis.
