Vol. 343 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kerry Industrial Development.

652.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy his plans to promote industrial development, with a high labour content, in the Cahirciveen and Waterville areas of County Kerry; and if he will make a statement setting out the prospects for each of these areas.

I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority have concluded negotiations with a German promoter, Dieter Falkanstein, for the take-over of the former special knives factory in Cahirciveen, County Kerry.

In addition, nine small factory units ranging in size from 1,000 square feet to 3,000 square feet are nearing completion in the town. 10,000 square feet of the former Tricots de Luxe factory is also available for industry. The IDA will continue vigorously to promote the Cahirciveen and Waterville areas for suitable industrial development.
