Vol. 343 No. 11

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

664.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide details of the reason for the demand for a payment of £222 in the telephone account of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon, as he has no knowledge of arrears amounting to £82.01.

The subscriber is being written to giving the information sought. The arrears of £82.01 were from the October-December account for £199.99, of which a payment of only £117.98 was received.

665.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a public telephone will be erected at Clologue, Ferns, County Wexford.

The provision of a public telephone at Clologue, Ferns, is not considered warranted at present and it is not proposed, therefore, to provide one there.

666.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for an engineer to check the telephone service of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 as it is unsatisfactory.

Technical staff called on two occasions to check the line but could not gain access to the subscriber's premises. An appointment card was left on each occasion. When a card is returned by the subscriber to make an appointment the fault will receive attention.
