Information as to how many primary school pupils were carried on school buses on the dates mentioned is not available to me. The number of permits and tickets issued at primary level was as follows:
1 October 1982 — County Cavan: 2,511 free transport permits, 293 term tickets (free-paying); County Monaghan: 2,029 free transport permits, 583 term tickets. 1 May 1983 — County Cavan: 2,556 free transport permits, 118 term tickets; County Monaghan: 2,080 free transport permits, 270 term tickets.

asked the Minister for Education if transport facilities will be retained for eligible children to a primary school (detail supplied) in County Wexford.
Transport facilities to the school in question will be retained if the necessary requirements of the school transport scheme in regard to numbers of eligible pupils availing of the service are fulfilled. The Department have been in correspondence with the school authorities on the matter.
