Following are the numbers of forest workers employed in the State forests of Cork North West: at 27/6/1980, 151; at 26/6/1981, 159; at 25/6/1982, 151; at 24/6/1983, 141.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the percentage of forest timber unprocessed from State forests in Counties Cavan and Monaghan exported to date in 1983; and the plans the IDA have for grant aiding timber based industries in those counties.
Of a total of 31,500 cubic metres of timber sold to date this year from State forests in the two counties referred to, some 16,900 cubic metres (or 54 per cent) were sold to purchasers outside the State. As regards the second part of the question I would refer the Deputy to an IDA publication of July 1981, entitled Developing the Irish Timber Industry for the 80s.
