Vol. 345 No. 3

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Treatment Application.

311.

asked the Minister for Health when orthodontic treatment will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13, who is in urgent need of treatment, as it would cost £2,000 if treatment were carried out privately.

The person in question is on the Eastern Health Board's waiting list for complicated orthodontic treatment. At present it is not possible to say when the treatment will be provided. However, applications will be invited shortly by the Local Appointments Commission for a new full-time post of consultant orthodontist for the Eastern Health Board. When this post is filled it is expected that the waiting period for orthodontic treatment will be reduced considerably.
