As I said in reply to a Dáil question on 21 April, I requested CIE to arrange for an evaluation of a number of alternative options for meeting the passenger and freight requirement of the islands. Considerable progress has already been achieved on the evaluation and when it is finalised I will submit my recommendations to the Government as speedily as possible.
