As I indicated in a press release on Saturday 12 November 1983 negotiations for the take-over of the former BMT factory have been completed between the Industrial Development Authority and a Channel Islands textile firm, Williamson Garments Ltd. of Guernsey. The new company expects to commence production of casual outer-wear at the beginning of December with an initial employment content of 30 rising to 70 over the next two years.
