328.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for persons (details supplied) in Dublin 8.

Service will be provided for the persons named as soon as it is possible to do so but it is unlikely that the necessary cabling can be completed before the first half of next year.

I very much regret the delay. However, by the end of 1984, the vast bulk of applications will be met on demand.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 as she lives alone.

Service will be provided for the person named as soon as it is possible to do so but it is unlikely that the necessary cabling can be completed for about six months.

It was expected that the necessary engineering work would be completed earlier. Unfortunately it was not possible to do so because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will reexamine the application of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a telephone service in view of information supplied by Deputy Aylward in response to the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 292 of Wednesday, 2 November 1983.

I very much regret the delay in providing telephone service for the person named. However it is expected that service will be provided for him within the next six to nine months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the result of the survey is known.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will immediately investigate the telephone account of a person (details supplied) in County Cork and the reason he was charged for operator-assisted calls in August 1983 after his telephone had been disconnected.

According to my Department's records, no charges were raised for operator-assisted calls made after service was withdrawn on this subscriber's exchange line.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will investigate the case of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who is being charged for 1,896 calls, which it is alleged were made between December 1982 and 1 April 1983 although his telephone did not work properly during this period.

I have arranged to have further inquiries made in this case. I will communicate with the Deputy when the results of these inquiries are available.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who has already made an advance payment and who is in urgent need of a telephone service.

Arrangements have been made to provide service for the person named. It is expected that the telephone will be connected within about a month.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who applied in 1979; and the reason for the delay in providing service.

I very much regret that it has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named, whose application was received in 1981, because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the Dun Laoghaire area.

The objective of the Department's current telephone development programme is to provide a fully satisfactory telephone service nationally in terms of both quality and availability by the end of 1984 and it is expected that service will be provided for the person named during the first half of next year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin as he applied in November 1979.

I very much regret the delay in providing telephone service for the person named. Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed for about six months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be reconnected for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin as he paid the reconnection fee some time ago and urgently requires service for business purposes.

I am sorry for the delay in reconnecting telephone service for the person named. It is expected that the service will be reconnected within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be transferred for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who applied seven years ago as his business has suffered greatly due to lack of service.

I very much regret the delay in providing a transfer of telephone service for the person named.

However it is expected that terms will be quoted shortly and service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when extra telephone lines will be provided for a firm (details supplied) in Dublin 6.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when additional lines can be provided for the firm named. The applicants will be advised of the result of the survey as soon as it is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when repairs will be carried out to a telephone for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin as it has been out of order for some time.

Service was withdrawn in this case some time ago for non-payment of accounts.

341.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for persons (details supplied) in County Dublin as they paid the installation fee some time ago and it is imperative that they receive a service without delay as they are doctors on "call" from time to time.

It is expected that telephone service will be provided for the persons named within about a month.

342.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be provided at Townparks, Convoy, County Donegal.

It is planned to provide a telephone kiosk under the guarantee scheme at Townparks, Convoy, County Donegal.

It will be erected as soon as the necessary consents to the site selected have been received and the legal agreements completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be provided at Maghera, Ardara, County Donegal.

It is planned to provide a telephone kiosk at Maghera, Ardara, County Donegal, under the guarantee scheme. It will be erected as soon as engineering works necessary for its erection have been completed.
