Vol. 345 No. 11

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

355.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be transferred for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 14.

It is expected that a removal of service will be provided for the person named within about two months.

I very much regret the delay. However, the vast majority of telephone applications will be met on demand by the end of 1984.

356.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will outline the reason the telephone of Deputy Gregory-Independent was cut by a repair team from his Department on 28 October 1983; if he is aware that the team said they were investigating problems with the line despite the fact that it was in perfect working order and that having cut and damaged the line, they failed to repair it, despite repeated requests to do so.

A fault was reported on this line on 29 October 1983. It was cleared on 11 November. The loss of service was caused by an internal exchange fault, the clearance of which regrettably was delayed. There is no record of any outside repairs on this line.
