Limerick East): Six hundred and sixteen offenders were released prior to their normal release dates from Mountjoy Prison during 1983 to date without its being a condition of their release that they be under the supervision of a probation and welfare officer. The total of those so released from all prisons and places of detention in the same period was 1,227. Details on a month by month basis are as follows:—
