302.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 14 received a number of inaccurate telephone bills during the last twelve months which have sought payment for operated assisted calls which were not made and which she discovered, following appropriate inquiries, were made by a firm (details supplied); the reason his Department has insisted on seeking payment for a number of these calls, even though the position has been fully explained to them and they have credited her in respect of some of the charges for which she was originally billed; and if he will take appropriate action to resolve the problem.

Three operator assisted calls costing a total of £9.16 were incorrectly debited earlier this year to this subscriber's accounts. Credit for the overcharges were allowed in subsequent accounts.
