asked the Minister for Labour if he will give details of the persons who took AnCO courses in the past 12 months indicating the numbers (i) in permanent employment, (ii) in temporary employment, (iii) school-leavers within the past year who have not yet been employed, (iv) persons in receipt of unemployment payments and (v) persons who are not school-leavers and not previously in the labour force.

Information on the background of those recruited to AnCO training courses for the 12 months period ending on 31 October 1983 is, to the extent it is available, as follows:

(i) & (ii)

In some type of work, including permanent employment, temporary employment, part-time employment, unstable employment, and people likely to lose their jobs

asked the Minister for Labour if he will give details of the jobs obtained by persons placed in employment after completing AnCO courses, indicating in particular the number in permanent jobs, in jobs aided by the employment incentive scheme, and in work experience programmes or other temporary employment.

Comprehensive information is not available on the types of employment obtained by trainees on completion of AnCO courses.

A sample survey of 657 trainees who left training centres in 1982 gave the following information on the first job obtained.

A number of trainees would have been admitted to the Employment Incentive Scheme, the Work Experience Programme and other temporary employment in the period in question but figures are not readily available.

asked the Minister for Labour the number and the percentage of persons who were placed immediately on completing their courses during the past 12 months (a) in the AnCO training centre and (b) from the AnCO external training division; and the number of these that were placed by the National Manpower Service.

The information requested for the 12 month period ending on 31 October 1983 in respect of non-sponsored trainees is as follows:
