The appointment of teachers in secondary schools under the prescribed regulations and within the authorised quotas of staff is a matter for the managerial authorities of the schools. In the case of the school in question my Department are currently paying incremental salary to the maximum number of teachers warranted by the regulations. In the circumstances it is not open to my Department to pay incremental salary to an additional member of the staff of the school.
