asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath as he has been waiting for it for two years.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed. A recent inspection revealed that the house was not fully completed. A request for a further inspection has not yet been received from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A new house grant cannot be paid in this case because contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the person named was in occupation of the house for more than one year prior to the receipt of his application in my Department. Applicant was notified of the rejection of his application on 24 September 1981.

It is not possible to say, at this stage, when a new house grant will be paid as conflicting information submitted in support of the application is currently being investigated.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. The grant will be paid shortly.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. On each inspection carried out the house was not completed to my Department's satisfaction. The file has again been referred for inspection (fourth) by appointment for Monday, 12 December 1983, with a view to payment of the grant.
