Vol. 346 No. 9

Written Answers. - Intensive Poultry Units.

352.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will exempt intensive poultry units from planning application fees.

Under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1977, agricultural development of less than 400 square metres floor area is exempt from planning control in most circumstances and does not need planning permission. Hence the question of payment of a fee does not arise for most agricultural development. There are no proposals to exempt intensive poultry units which require planning permission from the system of fees for planning applications.
