asked the Minister for Labour the number of substances he has classified as dangerous under the Dangerous Substances Act, 1972, during the past year.
Written Answers. - Dangerous Substances Act.
163.
No change has been made in the past year to the Dangerous Substances Act, 1972 (Part IV Declaration) Order, 1980 which declared twenty-five substances (other than petroleum) to be dangerous. These particular substances had been selected on the basis of a survey carried out by the industrial inspectorate of my Department of substances most commonly carried on our roads.
The question of extending the list of twenty-five substances to cover generally the dangerous substances now being carried on our roads is at present under consideration in my Department.
