Vol. 347 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cork Hospital Appointment.

250.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make immediate arrangements to appoint a physiotherapist at St. Finbarr's Hospital, Cork, where a number of critically ill people are deprived of this service.

The organisation of the physiotherapy service at St. Finbarr's Hospital is primarily a matter for the Southern Health Board.

There are 19 physiotherapists employed by the board to provide a joint physiotherapy service to the regional hospital and St. Finbarr's Hospital.

I understand the board is not satisfied that it has been satisfactorily meeting the physiotherapy requirements of the young chronic sick unit at St. Finbarr's and is examining the situation again.
