Limerick East): The precise arrangements for the policing of particular areas are primarily a matter for the local Garda officers, having regard to available resources, local circumstances and other demands on Garda services. The Garda authorities have informed me that the area mentioned by the Deputy receives regular attention from both foot and mobile patrols and that special measures by way of extra patrols, particularly by Detective Branch personnel, are being taken to deal with the incidence of burglaries in the area.
