A partial depopulation of the herd in question has been proposed and is being considered by the herdowner. Partial depopulation on the basis proposed would qualify for a payment from the hardship fund.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will expedite the payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.
The person named is not registered as herdowner under the herd number quoted. His father, who is registered as herdowner, will be paid his cattle headage grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes and also his calf premium grant as soon as the batches which include these payments are processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will review the payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; the reason for a reduced grant; and if he will arrange for the immediate payment of the balance.
Because of a clerical error a reduced amount of grant was paid in this case. This error has, however, now been corrected and the person named will be paid the balance due shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in the payment of grants under the heifer scheme and the calf scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.
The person named will be paid her 1983 calf premium and calf heifer scheme grants as soon as the batches which include these payments are processed. These payments are being made with many others, and there is no particular delay in the case.
