asked the Minister for the Environment the position regarding a house improvement grant application made by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath.
Written Answers. - Westmeath Grant Application.
355.
The application in this case was in respect of an extra bedroom and the carrying out of necessary works to the fabric of the house.
A bedroom grant could not be allowed because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, work had commenced before the Department's inspector visited the house. Neither could a grant be allowed in respect of the other works as the applicant's proposals in this respect did not include works which qualify under the relevant grant conditions.
