I have read this document with interest. The purpose of the study was to identify food products which offer potential for Irish processors. The study identifies a considerable number of possible product opportunities and details of these are being widely distributed to food companies here and overseas.
It is primarily a matter for private enterprise to exploit any opportunities that arise as a result of the IDA study and the follow-up promotional work undertaken by the IDA. If new proposals emerge as a result of the study, appropriate financial and other assistance will be provided for viable projects.
