A sum of £1.2 million has been provided in my Department's Vote for the current year for capital grant assistance to community councils and other local groups and organisations towards the provision of recreational and community facilities. However, I must point out that this sum is fully committed to projects selected for assistance in previous years. My Department has no funds for allocation of capital grants to new projects. I would add that community councils have benefited from the grant scheme for youth employment and from AnCO's community youth training programme.
