Vol. 348 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

389.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant for a solid fuel installation and reconstruction will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Grants were not paid in this case because it had not been established, in accordance with the Housing Regulations 1980 (as amended), that a claim for payment had been posted to the Department in time for delivery not later than 30 June 1981. My Department are, however, currently reviewing the case and will shortly be in communication with the applicant about the matter.

390.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This grant will be paid shortly.

391.

asked the Minister for the Environment if payment of a new house grant which is long overdue will now be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A grant cannot be paid to the person named until an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and complies with all the other conditions governing the grant scheme. The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant.

392.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

393.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, as it is due since September 1983.

A claim for payment of the second instalment of the mortgage subsidy was received in my Department on 1 February 1984 and a subsidy of £750 was paid on 7 March 1984.

394.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a grant will be paid in respect of a group scheme (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, as the application has been made for some time and all the details furnished to his Department.

The allocation of grants for this scheme will be considered when the group forwards completed grant application forms to my Department together with additional information which has been sought from the group by the Department's local inspector.
