My Department expect to receive in the near future from the Commissioners of Public Works a sketch scheme for the proposed extension to the Presentation Convent national school, Mooncoin, County Kilkenny, and will be in touch with the school authorities as soon as the scheme has been examined by my Department's inspector and his recommendations thereon considered.

The planning of the new vocational school at Mooncoin is under way. The outline sketch scheme for the project, recently received in my Department, is currently being examined.

asked the Minister for Education the progress that has been made in relation to the provision of an extension to Johnstown vocational school, County Kilkenny; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The extension at Johnstown vocational school was sanctioned on the basis that the school would have an eventual enrolment of 350 pupils. That sanction has to be reviewed because recent indications are that that level of enrolment will not be reached.
