asked the Minister for the Environment the allocation of money in respect of sanitary services for the year 1983; and the percentage increase for 1984 in Cork County Council.

The following capital allocations were made to Cork County Council in 1983 for sanitary services: Cork (North), £1,821,000; Cork (South). £7,374,000; Cork (West), £1,220,000.

I hope to be in a position shortly to determine in relation to the current year the initial allocations related to loans already sanctioned.

asked the Minister for the Environment the allocation for environment work schemes to be made in Cork County Council for 1984; and the percentage increase over the 1983 allocation.

Allocations for local authority environment works schemes for 1984 have not yet been made.

452.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of grants for roads, sanitary services, housing, local improvements scheme in lieu of rates etc. and any other allocations made to Cork County Council in 1984; and the percentage increase on the various allocations for year 1984, over and above what they received in 1983.

The 1984 allocations in respect of sanitary services and the environment works schemes have not yet been made. The following tabular statement outlines details of the 1983 and 1984 allocations to Cork County Council. Comparative percentages are provided for road grants, local improvements schemes and the grants in relief of domestic rates and in lieu of rates on agricultural land. It would not be appropriate to give percentage increases for other services since the present 1984 allocations are subject to review to take account, inter alia, of further allocations for these services from the overall funds provided in the Public Capital Programme and the Estimates for the Public Services.
