In 1983 the Western Health Board spent £1,152,000 on dental services. The board's estimate for dental services in 1984 was £1,312,000 but due to the need to achieve economies this was cut back to £1,200,000. In 1983 the health board spent £550,000 on optical services. An estimate of £627,000 was prepared for 1984 but again for economy reasons this has been cut back to £447,000.
