Vol. 350 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Killavullen (Cork) National School.

585.

asked the Minister for Finance when a grant will be paid for the erection of a prefabricated classroom at Killavullen National School; and the reason for the delay.

The manager of Killavullen National School, County Cork provided a prefabricated classroom at the school in 1982 without the prior authority of the Department of Education. On 14 March 1984 the Department advised the Office of Public Works that it would be prepared to grant aid the cost of the prefab, as an exceptional matter. The Office of Public Works made a recommendation to the Department of Education as to the sanction of a grant on 21 March 1984 and the sanction of a grant by the Department is awaited. When the grant is sanctioned payment will be made promptly subject to submission of planning permission by the manager of the school.
