Officers of my Department regularly visit the premises of licensed manufacturers of animal feedingstuffs and take samples for analysis. Where the result of an analysis differs from the contents of the feed as declared by the manufacturer the Department takes suitable action either by way of warning, more frequent inspection or prosecution.
The price of feed is monitored by my Department and by the National Prices Commission but it is not subject to official control.
