727.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will agree to the request of a prisoner (details supplied) in Limerick Prison that he be transferred on compassionate grounds to Arbour Hill Prison, Dublin, as his wife is sick and his two children cannot reasonably travel from their home to visit him in Limerick.

Limerick East): Having regard to all the factors which must be taken into account in this matter it is not feasible to transfer this prisoner out of Limerick Prison at present.

728.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is satisfied that a prisoner (details supplied) no longer wishes to be involved with paramilitaries; and if he will be prepared on that basis to authorise the prisoner's transfer from Portlaoise Prison.

Limerick East): This prisoner was transferred to Limerick Prison on 16 April 1984. As regards the reason for his transfer I refer the Deputy to my reply to a question by him on 5 April — Official Report, Volume 349, Column 1453.
