Vol. 350 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Limerick Land Sale.

558.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when payment in lieu of the sale of ten acres of land to the Department of Forestry over 12 years ago for a fire station will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A 23 hectare commonage in Doon North, County Limerick, was acquired by my Department in 1972 with the consent of the six shareholders thereof, including the person referred to. As the latter failed, however, to establish title to his interest within the prescribed three months statutory period, the compensation, amounting to £60, in his case was in accordance with the provisions of section 17 (2) (b) of the Forestry Act, 1946, paid by my Department into the Circuit Court. Any inquiry in the matter should therefore be addressed to the court.
