Vol. 350 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

551.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons payment of a house improvement grant was refused to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a statutory condition of the house improvement scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

552.

asked the Minister for the Environment the position with regard to the payment of a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from a person at the address given. An application has, however, been received from a person of the same name but with a slightly different address and in this case the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid in March last.

553.

asked the Minister for the Environment when it is proposed to carry out a final inspection for the payment of a £1,000 grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he has been approved for mortgage subsidy.

An inspection will be carried out shortly in this case. No application form for the mortgage subsidy has been received from the person named. An application form has now been forwarded for completion.

554.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out with a view to approving a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

An inspection will be carried out in this case as soon as possible.
