My Department have agreed in principle to the provision of a new national school building at Drumlish, County Longford. The acquisition of a suitable site by the local school authorities is awaited.
My Department are at present in consultation with the Commissioners of Public Works conducting a feasibility study in relation to how best alternative accommodation could be provided centrally for the pupils of the existing national schools in the Ballinamuck area, namely Graigue national school and Kiltycreevagh national school. The outcome of this study will be communicated to the school authorities concerned as soon as possible.
