asked the Taoiseach the number of persons registered as unemployed in the south Kilkenny area, that are signing on at Waterford exchange, on 1 May 1984; and how these compared with the figures on 1 May 1983.
An analysis of the live register according to area of residence is carried out on a quarterly basis for the months of February, May, August and November. On 17 February 1984, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 522 persons on the live register at Waterford City Employment Exchange who were resident in County Kilkenny. The corresponding figure on 18 February 1983 was 484. It is not possible to determine the area of residence of such persons at a more detailed level.
