In view of the severity of the TB outbreak in the Johnswell area of north Kilkenny I have arranged for additional veterinary staff to be made available to deal with the situation. This has enabled TB testing in the area to be intensified with particular emphasis on herds contiguous to reactor herds. The position as regards herd depopulations is also being given special consideration.
