I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's liabilities to income tax for the years 1978-79 to 1982-83, inclusive, were reviewed by the inspector of taxes in July 1983. The review revealed that insufficient tax had been deducted from the taxpayer's earnings in respect of each of those years and the tax underpaid will be collected by appropriate adjustments of his tax-free allowances under PAYE. The position has already been explained to the taxpayer. The inspector of taxes will not be in a position to review the taxpayer's liability for 1983-84 until the taxpayer supplies the information requested by the inspector on 29 July 1983.
