Vol. 351 No. 6

Written Answers. - Orthopaedic Treatment.

549.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 has been waiting since January, 1983 for orthopaedic treatment at a hospital (details supplied); if he considers the long waiting period unreasonable in view of the circumstances of the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the hospital authority that waiting lists are routinely reviewed and more urgent cases brought forward. The hospital authority say that if the patient's general practitioner contacts the hospital the patient's case will be reviewed and his admission brought forward if this is medically indicated.
