Order of Business.

Statements will be made now under Standing Order 38 on the recent European Council at Fontainebleau. It is proposed that these statements shall not exceed 20 minutes in each case and shall conclude not later than 10.30 a.m.

It is proposed to take Nos. 4 and 5. By agreement, Votes 3, 4, 5 and 34 and the Supplementary Estimates being introduced today will be debated together and a general debate may arise on these Estimates, and the questions necessary to bring the proceedings thereon to a conclusion shall be put forthwith and successively at 6 p.m.

Also by agreement, the following arrangements shall apply: (1), the speech of the Taoiseach and the first speaker for each of the Opposition parties shall not exceed 45 minutes; (2), the speech of each subsequent speaker shall not exceed 30 minutes; (3), a member of the Government shall be called on to conclude not later than 5.45 p.m.

Also by agreement, at the conclusion of business today the Dáil shall adjourn until 10.30 a.m. on Thursday next. Questions will not be taken on that day.

Would the Taoiseach indicate what business it is proposed to take next week?

It is proposed to take the remaining Stages of both the Misuse of Drugs Bill and the Criminal Justice Bill.
