Vol. 352 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Limerick School Transport.

290.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in giving sanction to the provision of school transport to children from the Berneigue Carrickerry area to Carrickerry national school, County Limerick; and the action she proposes to take to provide transport from these children who live in a very isolated area.

Sanction has been given for the establishment of a school transport service to Carrickerry National School and I understand that the service commenced on 8 October 1984.

There was an unavoidable delay in this case as the furnishings of a complete report on the actual number and locations of eligible pupils who would be attending Carrickerry National School had to await the reopening of the school after the summer holidays.
