The person concerned has been awarded deserted wife's benefit with effect from 9 August 1984 at the maximum rate for herself and three qualified children. An order book payable from 25 October 1984 has been forwarded to the designated post office for collection by her and she has been notified accordingly.
Arrears from 9 August to 24 October 1984 have been withheld as an offset against unemployment assistance paid to her in that period and towards recovery of a previous overpayment of deserted wife's benefit. A deduction of £5 is also being made from her weekly payment commencing on 25 October 1984 until such time as the overpayment is fully recovered.
