I have recently authorised the enlistment of 300 recruits for the Permanent Defence Force. Eighty of those will be enlisted in the Eastern Command and 60 in the Western Command. The allocation of recruits within each Command is a matter for the Command authorities. A number of these recruits will be assigned to units serving in Border areas on completion of their recruit training.
