The Government's plans for restructuring Córas Iompair Éireann will require amending legislation which will be introduced within the next few months. The restructuring will involve the separate operation by subsidiary companies of Dublin city services, provincial bus services and the railway. While the details have not yet been worked out, it is expected that under the new arrangements CIE will remain the holding company and that the board will continue to be constituted as at present.
