(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give an indication as to the time scale regarding the Government's case which they are bringing against the European Commission for the exemption of 58,000 tonnes of milk relating to the super-levy agreement.

The Commission's response to the Government's application is to be made by 7 January 1985. When the hearing will take place in the Court of Justice will depend on the court's programme of business. We will of course endeavour to expedite the case in so far as it is possible for us to do, so that an early decision can be obtained.
